MCQUEEN Parts Ways With Guitarist
July 1, 2009U.K. all-girl band MCQUEEN has parted ways with guitarist Cat De Casanove. The group explains, "Unfortunately, as with many relationships in life, people grow apart and ultimately want different things. After these six years and many ups and downs, Cat has decided that she would like to pursue other ventures and both Leah Duors [vocals] and Hayley Cramer [drums] wish her the absolute best of luck and will continue to support her in whatever she decides to do in the future. She will be sorely missed!"
MCQUEEN is currently working on material for its sophomore release, tentatively due in 2010 via the Newcastle, U.K.-based independent rock label Demolition Records. The band says, "Hayley and Leah are committed to continue building upon all of their combined hard work over the years and will deliver their fans a killer second album, which you all have waited so patiently for. But life is not without complications and tribulations, but they intend on overcoming all of them and continuing on the legacy of MCQUEEN!"
MCQUEEN's debut album, "Break the Silence", was released in 2007 on Demolition. The CD was helmed by up-and-coming producer Richie Kayvan in between a healthy touring schedule, with tracks being ferried to the U.S. to Joe Barresi (QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, TOOL, WEEZER, BAD RELIGION) to mix.
